Pre-Procedure Care

Preparing your skin before the Laser Genesis treatment can significantly enhance the outcome and reduce potential side effects.

Firstly, we highly recommend that you minimize direct sun exposure for at least two weeks before your treatment. Sunburned or tanned skin increases the risk of adverse reactions, so using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher is advised if you need to be outdoors–reapply every two hours.

It is also important to discontinue the use of certain products at least one week before the procedure. Retinoids, glycolic acid, and other exfoliants can make your skin more sensitive to the laser. Additionally, avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin and fish oil, for several days before the treatment can reduce the risk of bruising.

Finally, in the days before your appointment, stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet. Hydrated skin responds better to laser treatments, so drinking plenty of water is recommended. A diet rich in vitamins and antioxidants supports skin health

On the day of your appointment, cleanse your skin thoroughly and avoid applying makeup, lotion, or any other products.

Post-Procedure Care

If you experience mild redness or swelling, applying a cool compress to the treated area can help, and this typically subsides within a few hours to a day. Use a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated and soothe any irritation.

Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, with frequent reapplication, especially if you are outdoors on most days. Adopt a gentle skincare routine. Use mild cleansers and avoid harsh products such as retinoids, exfoliants, and alcohol-based toners for at least one week post-treatment. Keeping the treated area clean and moisturized promotes healing and prevents any infection.
