Liposuction

The more common areas that fat deposits collect during pregnancy are the thighs, buttocks, abdomen and hip area. Tallahassee Cosmetic Surgery - Latisse^TM Eyelash Enhancement

What is LATISSE^TM?

LATISSE^TM solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.

Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes.

How does it work?

LATISSE^TM is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. The exact way it works is unknown.

How soon will I see results?

The onset of effect with LATISSE^TM solution is gradual. In clinical trial, the majority of LATISSE^TM users saw a significant improvement by 2 months.

How is LATISSE^TM different?

Only LATISSE^TM has been approved by the FDA as a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. It also has been studied in clinical trial to demonstrate its safety and effectiveness.

Can anyone use LATISSE^TM?

You should not use LATISSE^TM solution if you are allergic to one of its ingredients. Also, tell your doctor or eye care specialist if any of the following apply to you:

Previously diagnosed with eye pressure problems: People with a history of eye pressure problems (specifically elevated intraocular pressure) should speak to an eye care specialist before starting LATISSE^TM
Currently taking medication for eye pressure problems: People taking medication to lower their IOP should be closely monitored while using LATISSE^TM solution
Have risk factors for glaucoma: People with risk factors for an eye condition called glaucoma, including a family history of glaucoma, should speak to an eye care specialist before starting LATISSE^TM

Is LATISSE^TM safe?

The safety and effectiveness of LATISSE^TM was shown in a clinical trial. Ask your doctor for more information about the safety of LATISSE^TM solution, and see the Important Safety Information on the back cover of this brochure.

What are the possible side effects with LATISSE^TM?

The most common side effects after using LATISSE^TM are eye itching or eye redness. These were reported by about 4% of users in clinical trial.1 LATISSE^TM solution may cause other less common side effects, which typically occur on the skin close to where LATISSE^TM is applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness, or redness of the eyelids.

If you develop a new eye condition (like an eye trauma or infection), experience a sudden decrease in vision, have eye surgery, or develop any eye reactions, particularly an infection and eyelid reactions, you should immediately talk to your doctor about whether or not to continue using LATISSE^TM solution.

Jayne, a Lakeland, Florida native, received her B.S. degree from Florida State University and later went on to the University of Florida to graduate from it’s acclaimed Physician Assistant program. Jayne is a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and served as president in 2002. In addition to assisting our three board certified plastic surgeons, Jayne is also involved with our Botox® Friday program and other anti-wrinkle injectables including dermal fillers Restalyne® and Radiesse®.

Susan Owens, licensed esthetician

Julie Moss also offers extensive experience as she first began her training and career in the skin care industry more than 20 years ago in New York City, where she spent seven years working in the industry. A Tallahassee resident since 1995, Julie joined Physicians’ Skin Care Clinic in 2007. In addition to her training in our full complement of facial treatments and medically supervised product lines, Julie also offers clients waxing and the exclusive Endermologie® anti-cellulite treatments, which is provided complimentary for our body contouring patients.

Beth Fink, Cosmetic Coordinator

Beth personally assists all skin care and cosmetic surgery patients. She serves as a liaison with the physicians to answer patient questions and provides an overview of what patients can expect with various procedures. With a degree in Health Care Management from the University of Alabama, Beth has vast experience in the health care industry. Her warm and caring nature puts our patients at ease as she coordinates their surgical procedures.

Carolanna Lawson, Certified Physician Assistant

Carolanna has deep roots in Tallahassee and earned her B.S. degree in Science at Florida State University and is a graduate of the University of South Alabama, Master of Health Science, Physician Assistant Studies. Carolanna is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and past member of the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants. She also served as Secretary and Treasurer for the Alabama Physician Assistant Student Society. Tallahassee Brachioplasty – Arm Lift Surgery

Tallahassee, Dothan, Thomasville, Panama City and Destin plastic surgery patients come to Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic for arm lift surgery, which removes sagging skin on the upper arms due to aging, genetics, or weight loss. The intended results of an arm lift (brachioplasty) plastic surgery procedure is to reduce or eliminate excess skin from the upper arms. The result is a more toned, youthful appearance.

After an arm lift patients often report that they are more comfortable in the fit of long-sleeved clothing, and that they feel better about their appearance in short-sleeved and sleeveless apparel. Patients often report increased self-confidence overall as a result of a successful brachioplasty procedure.

Tallahassee, Dothan, Thomasville, Panama City and Destin plastic surgery patients usually have their arm lift surgery done under general anesthesia. In order to remove the unwanted skin, an incision is required that runs from near the elbow into the armpit. The incision is placed in the most inconspicuous location (inner arm toward the back), but some scarring will always be visible. An additional procedure that may enhance the result is liposuction of the upper arms.

This 50 year old woman underwent a belt lipectomy to remove the excess waistline skin that resulted after massive weight loss (she lost 70 pounds after a stomach stapling procedure.) This "around-the-world" tummy tuck places the incision in the lower abdomen and runs all the way around to the back to help lift the hip and buttock skin as well. Office hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am to noon. Call 850.877.2126 to schedule a consultation or appointment, depending on the procedure or treatment you are interested in.

If you are unsure about your treatment, ask to speak with our Cosmetic Coordinator, who is happy to assist all patients from Tallahassee, Thomasville, Dothan, Destin, and Panama City. Appointments and Cancellations

In order to provide each patient with ample time for individualized services, we work by appointment. We ask that you please try to cancel an appointment 24 hours prior to your scheduled time so we may try to reschedule you and other patients as quickly as possible. You will be reminded of your appointment time. If you are a new patient, please download and print out the patient information form so that you can fill it out at home and bring it to the office with you. Tallahassee Skin Care - Chemical Peels

BioMedic Clinical “Lunch-Time Peels”

Tallahassee skin care patients can choose from the following “Lunch-Time Peels”:

Lactic Acid: Ideal for patients with sensitive skin. Recovery time: Immediate recovery.

Glycolic Acid: Ideal for fine lines, wrinkles, and premature aging. Recovery time: May resume daily activities immediately.

Salicylic Acid: Ideal for patients who suffer from acne and problematic skin. Recovery time: Immediate recovery; however, two to three days of light peeling can be expected.

Medical Peels

In Tallahassee, skin care patients who want medical peels are required to consult with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons prior to treatment. Medical peels are administered by a physician and may require light sedation. Recovery time is typically longer than clinical and botanical peels. However, these peels offer more dramatic and long-lasting results.

Pigment Peel Plus

This BioMedic skin rejuvenation treatment that is for stubborn hyperpigmentation and discoloration and is suitable for all skin types. It has a brief recovery period.

Trichlorocetic Acid (TCA) Peel

The TCA Peel or Acid Fruit peel corrects uneven pigmentation and soothes fine wrinkles. It can be tailored from a mild to moderate procedure, depending on the desired change in skin texture. It has a recovery period of approximately seven to ten days.

Phenol Peel
