Your Top Facelift Surgery Questions Answered!

side-photo-model-face-02Facelift surgery can give you a more youthful appearance and restore your confidence, too. Learning more about the procedure and what to expect can help you make the best decisions on the timing and extent of your surgery. Here are some of the questions we’re asked most often about facelift surgery – and the answers to them, too.

How long is the facelift recovery time?

After your procedure, you will be able to go home, but you will need to wear a protective covering on your face and restrict your facial movements. We’ll see you the next day to make sure you are healing well and on your way to a full recovery. Expect to see most of the swelling go down within the first two weeks, and to be able to return to your regular activities in about six weeks.

Which parts of the face are targeted in a facelift?

Traditional facelift surgery targets the lower portion of the face and neck; a midface lift tightens up the cheek area. The two are often used together to create an allover more youthful appearance.

Is it possible to have other procedures at the same time?

Adding other features, like those that target the eyes or brows, won’t extend the recovery time. This allows you to have all of the work you’ve decided on done at once.

What can I expect from the surgery?

You will be under general anesthesia for your facelift surgery and will not feel any pain or even awareness of the procedure. After your procedure, you may experience some discomfort from swelling, and pain can be treated with medications as needed.

Understanding your options and learning more about what to expect from the procedure itself, as well as the results, can help you make an informed decision about your facelift.
